Concerts

You just electrified a sleepy village hall last night. Sublime. Coldingham doesn't know what's going to hit them tonight...!

Gilbert, Borders Tour, 2013

The concert was excellent. They're a very talented ensemble, individually and collectively. I'm glad they spoke to the audience rather than relying on a programme; it helped to make the whole thing more immediate and personal, which is what I like about chamber music in small venues. There was a general buzz of real appreciation in what was a gratifyingly large audience for Co'path.

Roger, Borders Tour, 2013

Thank you again for the excellent recital. It is a rare gift that you have and the quartet played as one, both marvellous and magical to watch…The feedback from everybody (not one dissent) was very positive, they all marvelled at the sheer expertise in playing some complex pieces.

Bob, Borders Tour, 2013

Thank you all for a brilliant concert in Coldingham on Friday 30th. It was a real delight to be treated to such a wide selection of attractive works performed with beautiful transparency and displaying such a breath-taking dynamic range. I’m sure Keats could have expressed this more aptly, - perhaps I should just say ‘Wow that was great’ - [we] were bowled over by your virtuosity.

Bryan and Maureen, Borders Tour, 2013

All of us who were fortunate enough to have tickets for the concert in the Coldingham Hall Theatre last night were welcomed into a colourful world of music conjured up by the Keats String Quartet, four gifted and beautiful young ladies. The resonance of this venue coupled with the sensitive awareness of these four highly talented players achieved an astonishing dynamic range, from the whisper-quiet intimacy of a single thread of sound up to satisfyingly rich, exciting fortissimo passages. These qualities were beautifully portrayed throughout the evening and were particularly evident in Schubert’s ‘Death and the Maiden’ which formed part of their very varied programme ranging from the Baroque and classical all the way to present day popular works. Altogether this was an extremely enjoyable event in a delightful venue.

BM, Borders Tour, 2013

Your ensemble and stylish playing really held the evening together.

Lyn Alcantara, Director of Music, Wolfson College, Cambridge

This was an excellent and varied programme from this very talented and accomplished quartet ranging from Classical Schubert to Cole Porter. The guitar style playing of the instruments in the nautical piece was enchanting. The quartets personality was apparent throughout their performance and I look forward to future performances soon.

MM, Coldingham, 2013

The Keats Quartet, on baroque instruments, worked with the Early Music Wells Consort in a musically sensitive and professional manner, and the concert was very well received.

Matthew Owens, Organist and Master of the Choristers at Wells Cathedral

A real pleasure to attend this performance. A great range of music to suit all tastes and I liked the way the group interacted and gave each member a chance to show their individual talents. Well done!

MR, Coldingham, 2013

Wonderful concert: the players really looked as if they enjoyed themselves too. Such a great variety of genres, all played with equal enthusiasm and skill, made for a refreshing mix.

The Keats Quartet have been wonderful section leaders for two recent chamber orchestra recordings. Musically sensitive and very professional, it is always an absolute pleasure to work with them.

We hired Keats Quartet for our wedding and they were reliable, personable and hugely talented. Having the quartet play as she walked down the aisle is and will always be one of my happiest memories. Would definitely recommend them.

James Page, 2012

My wife and myself, along with all our guests could not complement the ladies high enough. An excellent addition to our amazing wedding and day and worth every penny. Should anyone ask, I will certainly recommend.
